In June 2014, Range acquired additional interest in the Nora Field, giving Range 100% ownership of that asset.

The property is held by production with Range owning the majority of the minerals across the area. The Nora area produces from multiple stacked pay horizons including coal bed methane, tight gas sand and Devonian shale. Although the acreage is in the middle of a large gas accumulation covering parts of Virginia, Kentucky and West Virginia, the Nora field has been sparsely drilled relative to the rest. Since Range acquired these assets 10 years ago, production has grown from 15 Mmcfd to 111 Mmcfd. Range estimates the net unrisked resource potential in Virginia to be 5 Tcfe. The Virginia properties are strategically located to supply natural gas to the rapidly growing markets in the Southeast.
