Creating wildlife habitat during the site reclamation process has been a win-win for Range, landowners, and the ecosystem. This effort translated to some hardware at the 2019 Northeast Oil and Gas Awards, earning Range the Award for Excellence in Environmental Stewardship.

The award presenters during the event cited Range’s efforts as “refreshing” to see a company participate in these projects with a “huge drive to do things outside the box,” and recognized Range’s “commitment to fostering thriving communities…driven by employees.”

Seeding the Future: Range’s Habitat Enhancement Commitment

Several employees across Range’s Water Operations and Environmental Compliance teams have been collaborating with area organizations like California University of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and Pheasants Forever to enhance the local habitat during our site restoration process, all to create valuable pollinator and wildlife habitat. Pollinator populations have been on the decline for years on a global scale, and efforts like Range’s restoration program are directly contributing to the reestablishment of native meadows and habitat that will support healthy population of pollinator insects, along with a variety of songbirds, upland birds, and big game animals.

These efforts directly align with Range’s core values of being good stewards of the environment and the communities where we live and work.
