Natural gas producers like Range Resources pay annual impact fees on natural gas. It’s Pennsylvania’s way of taxing natural gas and since 2011, the impact fee has generated nearly $1.5 billion. That includes $210 million alone this year, which most of that revenue directly supports communities.

Range Resources alone has paid more than $180 million towards the impact fee, more than any other operator in the commonwealth.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission manages the collection and disbursement of funds for the state. Visit their interactive Impact Fee website here to take a deeper dive into the data or take a look at what your township has received to date.
